NEW! NEW JERSEY FILM ACADEMY
The New Jersey Film Academy is committed to bridging the gap between education and employment in the film and media industry. As a nonprofit organization, we support our partner educational institutions across New Jersey by providing tailored educational programs that equip individuals for entry-level positions in a variety of film-related careers. Atlantic Cape is a member of the New Jersey Community and offers New Jersey Film Academy (NJFA) certificates. Participants interested in working in the growing New Jersey entertainment industry will have the opportunity to take part in foundational training programs.
Script to Screen: Introduction to the Entertainment Industry
This course offers essential knowledge about the various stages of production, career opportunities, and professional expectations in the film and television industry. Students will explore industry-specific terminology, workflows for both above-the-line and below-the-line roles, and the process of taking a creative project from script to screen. Additionally, the course guides launching and growing a career in film or television. With a focus on industry standards, on-set safety protocols, practical procedures, and the realities of the job market, students will be wellprepared to advance their training and begin their careers in the industry.
You will gain the knowledge and skills required to pursue entry-level roles in the industry, including strategies for securing employment and the training necessary for success. By combining theoretical insights with hands-on assignments, this program equips students to confidently navigate the job market and begin their careers in the entertainment industry with professionalism and competence.
Upon completing this course, you will have a thorough understanding of the entertainment industry from script development to on-screen production. You will explore the various stages of production, discover diverse job opportunities, and gain insight into the professional standards and expectations within film and television.
