Energy Healing Work (Reiki, Polarity and Chakra Healing)
The energy field of the body is a concept with multiple interpretations, including the scientifically measurable electromagnetic field that surrounds the body and the more subtle, non-physical energy systems. The electromagnetic field is generated by electrical activity in the body, particularly from the heart and nerve cells, and it can be measured with sensitive equipment. The other concepts, such as the aura and chakras, are considered part of a subtle or “energy” body that extends beyond the physical form and is associated with a person’s physical, emotional, and spiritual state.
When a person feels unbalanced physically, emotionally, or mentally, Energy Work aids in restoring and realigning the body’s energy system. Some favorite modalities are Reiki, Polarity, and Chakra Healing. This workshop is an introduction to these treatments. The word Reiki can be translated as “universal life energy.” The Usui System works with Reiki for healing oneself or others. Reiki practitioners place their hands on or over the part of the body that needs balancing and channel a Higher Power Or Universal Life Force Energy into the body. Reiki may be felt as a temperature change or tingling, or just deep relaxation.
Polarity therapy is a holistic hands-on healing practice that uses light touch, rocking, and other techniques to balance the body’s electromagnetic energy fields and promote relaxation and well-being. It aims to release energy blocks and restore the free flow of life energy, or prana, through the body. Chakras are the circular vortexes of energy located in seven different points along the spinal column. All seven chakras are connected to various organs and glands within the body. Chakra Healing balances these seven chakras, bringing the body and emotions into balance.
You will receive a Polarity and Chakra Balancing session in class and be able to repeat at home. You will also have an experience of what Reiki feels like.
