The Center for Transition Success at Atlantic Cape Community College serves as a resource to provide support for individuals as they transition from secondary school to postsecondary education, adult employment, workforce training and independent living.
This is an exciting opportunity for Atlantic and Cape May County residents, ages 18-24, with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Atlantic Cape Community College's Center for Transition Success provides individualized services to assist high school graduates with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they transition into independent, productive and meaningful lives.

Upcoming Workshops
Workplace Technology Skills
In this course, students will learn the basics for independent use of workplace technology tools. Through the use of inclusive, accessible instruction, the course will focus on developing workplace competency for the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Students will also learn practical skills related to fundamental workplace communication software and techniques, graphic design, and database management, as well as the foundations of productive AI usage. Learners who complete this course will gain essential skills for being effective tech-driven employees across a variety of work environments.
Students who successfully complete this course will receive an Atlantic Cape Community College certificate acknowledging their accomplishments.

Business Startup Experience
In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of business development and entrepreneurship through inclusive, accessible instruction. Students who complete the course will develop entrepreneurial readiness and self-employment as viable vocational goals. Lessons will be oriented towards leadership, business literacy, strategic management, creative problem solving, communication, collaboration, and project management.
Learners apply real-world business management skills to launch a pilot entrepreneur project alongside team members in the class, helping them to gain and utilize fundamental skills related to the creative and challenging world of entrepreneurship. Students who successfully complete this course will receive an Atlantic Cape Community College certificate acknowledging their accomplishments.

New Jersey Drivers Written Exam Preparation
Students will be guided through the materials and knowledge necessary to pass the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission’s written knowledge Driver’s Exam through inclusive, accessible instruction. The course is based on the New Jersey Driver Manual, and will go over important driving and safety regulations required to pass the Driver’s Exam and achieve transportation independence, as well as being a safe and competent member of New Jersey roadways. Students will gain the necessary knowledge to take the 40-question multiple choice New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission’s Knowledge Test as part of their completion in this course.

An Individual Transition Plan will be created based on the student's identified goals for their future
Step 4:
Completion of College Readiness Workshops (if applicable)

Transition into college, workforce training, or employment
